  I've been wonderin' about this... so I gave it a try!   My results were DECENT... NOTE: the curl on your right was my first attempt. This curl didn't take as well, but I got smart about how to improve my technique for my second curl on your left. It's REALLY pretty, isn't it!   In my humble opinion, Curlformers ARE NOT PRACTICAL for Sisterlocks! #1) To form a beautiful flat spiral curl created with Curlformers on Sisterlocks, very few locs must be "threaded" thru each Curlformer. At $12.99 for a pack of 8 Curlformers and $4 for the hook required to thread your hair into the Curlformer... can u say, "EXPENSIVE!" My suggestion: stick with creating beautiful spiral curls with your Sisterlocks using pipe cleaners (my personal inexpensive & most effective favorite) , the Wrap-A-Loc tool, LocLoops, SoftSpikes, sponge rollers, flex/perm rods and the like. My momma, who does not wish to ever loc her hair, often inquires of me about the possibility of taking down my Sisterlocks. Listening to the stories of many women who once had various forms of traditional locs who now have Sisterlocks, I had learned that larger sized locs could be take-down See locsdiary's story ...but I did kinda of wonder about the take-down process of the tiny Sisterlocks. That is, I wondered this prior to getting SL myself and experiencing locking/slippage issues with a few SLs of my own Sisterlocks. Having worn my Sisterlocks for 3 years now, I know that I had better stear clear of FREQUENT reconstructor-type hair conditioning. Even 3 years loc'd using a reconstructor on REALLY softens my hair to an uncurlable limp state that lasts for weeks! We are encouraged to wear our best chocolate outfit... ( pics to follow) In addition to the Annual Locks4Life Christmas Party fun, client/SLConsultant love-fest, and the parade of Sisterlocks fabulousness to an unbearable extreme, Paulette Brown's Locks4Life team is taking on a very serious donation drive for Alternatives for Girls (AFG). Alternatives For Girls helps homeless and high-risk girls and young women avoid violence, teen pregnancy and exploitation, and helps them to explore and access the support, resources and opportunities necessary to be safe, to grow strong and to make positive choices in their lives. AFG accomplishes this mission through three key services: prevention, the AFG Shelter and outreach.
