Kecia's "On the CUP?!"

After being sold on the very CONCEPT of reusable feminine protection, I ordered the Diva Cup. Upon receiving my Diva Cup, I couldn't wait for my period to start! At the first sight of blood, I inserted the Diva Cup, and went about my day.

I cannot adequately express to you how "beautifully woman & entirely female" I felt looking at the reflection of my nude body in my full length mirror, on my period, with no string swinging from my genitals. Now I know how Pinocchio must have felt becoming a real boy...because I too had 'no strings' and I felt really FREE as a woman!

By the end of the day...I had been just so impressed with the comfort and the effectiveness of the Diva Cup that I had to give Francine Chambers a call and tell her how wonderful the Diva Cup was for me. I vowed to Francine that day that my 3 daughters will only know of the Diva Cup for their feminine protection needs when they become of menstruation age. (My daughters are 3- & 2-years old to date.) My friends think I'm quite adventurous "going all-natural, organic, and environmental conservation-like" these days...but I don't care! I have never felt so good about myself and my relationship with all that makes up this planet earth. Thanks again for the Diva Cup!

Now that I have completed a complete menstrual cycle through my lightest and heaviest days I can ONLY say the Diva Cup works with phenomenal effectiveness. I LOVE IT!

I'm A "Green" Diva

This post is probably TMI about me... but health and wellness are things I am passionate about from head to toe, inside and out-- to include menstrual health. Any of you heard of The DivaCup? I use to sell it at my online store. I'm now out of stock. The other day I got to thinking how long it has been since I first started using a menstrual cup in lieu of tampons. It's been about 4 years now at least. I'm sure it was either shortly before or after I got Sisterlocks Either way... it too is a decision I don't regret making much like my decision to get Sisterlocks. I had been a tampon user since a teen and had become increasingly concerned about toxic shock syndrome. Not because I had ever experienced any symptoms but I just got to wonderin' were there any OTHER options to tampons and pads. Oh the wonder of the Internet... I got to Googlin' up some stuff and lo and behold... alternatives existed and had existed for years. You may be amazed as I was that there ...

Length to Short Bob Sisterlocks Hairstyle

Well, it has been about 2 years since my last post... (seems I'm mostly on my personal Facebook page and Google+ not to mention working towards completing my doctoral degree expected 2015 WhoopWhoop... but, I digress...) Here's what up... As the title suggests, I have gotten my length of 9 years cut into an Angled Bob. Now, while I had envisioned my Bob having a definite wedge from the side view... I guess my hair is just to fine to REALLY STACK HIGH naturally. That being said I do like my cut, but I was tickled by it because truly 'all things old become new again'. What I mean is that I HAD a permed Bob with a very short cut nape of my neck upon having my Sisterlocks installed back in 2005...and looking at my hair in 2014 it seems that I have started where I had come back then! (See the pic) Of course, THIS TIME the hair on the top of my head is chemical-free!!  This is ME with all my daughters...we all rock natural hair. My two SL'd daughters-- 2girls...

I'm lovin' Obama, but now...

What I'm about to say is not going to be popular... but liken this transformation to the continued maturation process that we loc'd sistahs/brothers go thru when making the decision to loc or not. I love the idea of the beautiful Obama family in the White House, but I now am not sure I can support Obama with my official vote come November 4th. Yes, the same ME who donated money to his campaign, stood in long lines in Detroit on Labor Day this year, who penned the previous posts http://esandb.blogspot.com/2008/03/barak-praise-lordenough-said.html, http://esandb.blogspot.com/2008/09/labor-day-2008-in-detroit-with-obama.html, http://esandb.blogspot.com/2008/06/prayer-for-barack.html, and my famous pic at this post http://esandb.blogspot.com/2008/08/love-me-some-obama.html. Upon deeper research, I can't honor Obama with my official vote because I don't agree with 75% of his politics or values. I realize I like others that I really want CHANGE on the face and actions of Am...
