What’s Are Your Locked Ends Like?

Loc envy… we all have it from time to time. It is human nature.
Those interested in getting locs-- Sisterlocks not withstanding-- and even we who already have locs / Sisterlocks love to see photo galleries of loc’d sistahs (and bruthas). We look to pick up a new “do” or peer into the virtual crystal ball to try to imagine how our locs / Sisterlocks will look at some later stage and future state on our personal locking / Sisterlocks journey.

Let me underscore this again… we each are on a personal locking/ Sisterlocks journey. Deciding to loc your hair is a journey of patience to be sure as well as growth. I’m not talkin’ just length of hair growth, but spiritual, mental, social as well as the physical hair growth. The greatest of these being spiritual growth (can I get deep here…) because patience is a spiritual force that is activated when our faith in something comes under attack or under pressure.

I have come to learn that patience is a by-product of unpredictable changes. Patience isn't granted, patience is earned.

Check this out…the following pics are of various ends of Sisterlock’d hair. Do you see yours here?

Here’s the kicker… can I just tell you that these varying ends are all on MY one head. Trust me, I get compliments on my hair all the time from all types of folk—differing in race, age, some locked themselves and most not. I just use what I’ve got and hang on for the ride. (You know how we do…)

In a nutshell… here’s my overall point of this post: Patience stabilizes our thoughts, will or determination and emotions. We would each do well to exercise patience in our locking/ Sisterlocks journeys and other of life’s journeys as well.

1) Leave a comment with pics of your ends-- love ‘em or loathe ‘em—and maybe we could encourage one another that ‘the end is not yet’. It is ever changing!

2) Got stuff you do to your ends that make you “love ‘em like that”… do share! When sharing, however, disclose at what stage of loc maturity you are in so as not to hamper the growth of those with baby or brand-new locs who will want YOUR look.

My ends are just like every last one of yours!! Thanks for the post. You hair looks good. I can keep hope alive. Because you know that the permed ends do their own thing. I style my hair with a braid out at times with a lil curl at the end or sponge or rods. I will link you on my site.

Amen to all you said! My 2yr & 4 month old Sisterlocks look just like yours in different place. You know by now I thought I wouldnt have to deal with the balls that can hang off the ends but they are still there. Even in maturity our locks are still maturing. Just like us in our lives. Although we're adults maturation is perpetual.

Length to Short Bob Sisterlocks Hairstyle

Well, it has been about 2 years since my last post... (seems I'm mostly on my personal Facebook page and Google+ not to mention working towards completing my doctoral degree expected 2015 WhoopWhoop... but, I digress...) Here's what up... As the title suggests, I have gotten my length of 9 years cut into an Angled Bob. Now, while I had envisioned my Bob having a definite wedge from the side view... I guess my hair is just to fine to REALLY STACK HIGH naturally. That being said I do like my cut, but I was tickled by it because truly 'all things old become new again'. What I mean is that I HAD a permed Bob with a very short cut nape of my neck upon having my Sisterlocks installed back in 2005...and looking at my hair in 2014 it seems that I have started where I had come back then! (See the pic) Of course, THIS TIME the hair on the top of my head is chemical-free!!  This is ME with all my daughters...we all rock natural hair. My two SL'd daughters-- 2girls

I'm A "Green" Diva

This post is probably TMI about me... but health and wellness are things I am passionate about from head to toe, inside and out-- to include menstrual health. Any of you heard of The DivaCup? I use to sell it at my online store. I'm now out of stock. The other day I got to thinking how long it has been since I first started using a menstrual cup in lieu of tampons. It's been about 4 years now at least. I'm sure it was either shortly before or after I got Sisterlocks Either way... it too is a decision I don't regret making much like my decision to get Sisterlocks. I had been a tampon user since a teen and had become increasingly concerned about toxic shock syndrome. Not because I had ever experienced any symptoms but I just got to wonderin' were there any OTHER options to tampons and pads. Oh the wonder of the Internet... I got to Googlin' up some stuff and lo and behold... alternatives existed and had existed for years. You may be amazed as I was that there

Just kidding... Lottabody DOES Work on MY Sisterlocks!

Hmmm, well, I guess I figured out  my Lottabody to Water ratio...  I sure needed to because as you can you see, I have a half bottle of the stuff yet to go... and this large bottle WILL LIKELY last me for the next 9 years... lol!
