November 5th Behavior

Check this out: I got this from my mom via email who got this from her former co-worker who claims to have gotten it from her sister. This is hilarious... yet, we might REALLY want to Take heed everybody. Good Morning My People - After watching the final debate the other night, it dawned on me that Obama could actually win this thing. If that happens, there will be a lot of people (some of our co-workers included) who will be afraid that an Obama presidency will usher in the end of days. They'll be watching us on November 5th (the day after the election) for signs of the end times. To keep the peace and keep a lot of folks from getting nervous, Ithink we should develop a list of acceptable celebrations and behaviors we should probably avoid - at least for the first few days: 1. No crying, hugging or shouting "Thank you Lord" - at least not in public. 2. No high-fives - at least not unless the area is clear and there are no witnesses. 3. No laughing at the McCain...

November 4th is Near America-- DO PLEASE VOTE!

John Quincy Adams said, "Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." It is true: America has not elected a third party candidate since 1860. Does that automatically mean, however, that every vote cast for one of the two major party candidates is not a wasted vote ? I don't think so. In the first place, a wasted vote is a vote for someone you know does not represent your own beliefs and principles. A wasted vote is a vote for someone you know will not lead the country in the way it should go. A wasted vote is a vote for the "lesser of two evils..." (Source: A Wasted Vote An article by Chuck Baldwin ) I'm so tired of having to vote like that... anybody else? Who's with me?! That's the statement of change I plan to make THIS election with my vote. I'm not crazy... Can I tell you what I do realize... OBAMA's gonna win Election 2008! BTW...I'm already wit...

My Pipe cleaner and SoftSpikes Curls!

I wanted to show the results I get from curling my Sisterlocks with SoftSpikes and pipe cleaners. See my tranformation... I really, really should a holding foam or something on my hair when I do this because my curls are never as tight as I WOULD LIKE THEM using the SoftSpikes.

The Salkis Re Sisterlocks Roller Set Technique

I have used the Salkis Re roller set technique before but didn't have a digital camera at the time. So, now you all get to see my results adapted with a mixture of perm rods, sponge rollers, hair spools, and pipe cleaners:   USE WHAT YOU'VE GOT TO GET WHAT YOU WANT... my results were very nice again! Thx Salkis Re of combmyhair.com

I'm lovin' Obama, but now...

What I'm about to say is not going to be popular... but liken this transformation to the continued maturation process that we loc'd sistahs/brothers go thru when making the decision to loc or not. I love the idea of the beautiful Obama family in the White House, but I now am not sure I can support Obama with my official vote come November 4th. Yes, the same ME who donated money to his campaign, stood in long lines in Detroit on Labor Day this year, who penned the previous posts http://esandb.blogspot.com/2008/03/barak-praise-lordenough-said.html, http://esandb.blogspot.com/2008/09/labor-day-2008-in-detroit-with-obama.html, http://esandb.blogspot.com/2008/06/prayer-for-barack.html, and my famous pic at this post http://esandb.blogspot.com/2008/08/love-me-some-obama.html. Upon deeper research, I can't honor Obama with my official vote because I don't agree with 75% of his politics or values. I realize I like others that I really want CHANGE on the face and actions of Am...

My pipe cleaners spiral curls REALLY LAST!

I really love how long my curls lasted me. I REALLY need to use a styling foam to hold my curls. THAT has been my missing ingredient! I ending up washing the curls out after a week of just going to bed and getting up-- no re-rolling. Those curls were in there firmly. My scalp started to itch. That's why I went on and washed my hair. Had my scalp not itched, I sure would have rocked on with my curly SLs! I love the exchange of 1 hour of rolling for 7 days of curls. I did updos, headbands and freestyle hanging hairstyles over the course of the week. I musta been lookin' half way decent 'cause my three daughters said, "Momma, you look HOT!" Outta the mouths of babes... INNOCENT CLARITY It's official folks... 3girlsmomma is in her extra curly Sisterlocks!

Pipe Cleaner, Spoolies, and Wrap-A-Loc Tool Sisterlocks Spiral Curls

Here are my results from using pipe cleaners, Spoolies (hair spools) and the Wrap-A-Loc tool . I only use black in case of pipe cleaner shedding. Of course, to avoid shedding issues and snagging from the inexpensive pipe cleaner, I do recommend UPGRADING to the Wrap-A-Loc Tool. (Times got a lil' tight in MY household financially so I haven't yet purchased the longer Wrap-A-Loc Tool that WOULD accommodate my new hair length. Ya gotta do what you gotta do to get stuff done, ya know... ) Click play button to see more pics. Nowadays, I only use my Spoolies and Wrap-A-Loc tools for a single strand of loc that I may have missed; but only because the amount of hair these particular size tools hold have become limited since I have more length AND thickness per loc. I just let these curls hang all day. I never broke him up at all. I really liked the look!
