November 5th Behavior

Check this out: I got this from my mom via email who got this from her former co-worker who claims to have gotten it from her sister. This is hilarious... yet, we might REALLY want to Take heed everybody.

Good Morning My People -

After watching the final debate the other night, it dawned on me that Obama could actually win this thing. If that happens, there will be a lot of people (some of our co-workers included) who will be afraid that an Obama presidency will usher in the end of days. They'll be watching us on November 5th (the day after the election) for signs of the end times. To keep the peace and keep a lot of folks from getting nervous, Ithink we should develop a list of acceptable celebrations and behaviors we should probably avoid - at least for the first few days:
1. No crying, hugging or shouting "Thank you Lord" - at least not in public.
2. No high-fives - at least not unless the area is clear and there are no witnesses.
3. No laughing at the McCain/Palin supporters.
4. No calling in sick on November 5th. They'll get nervous if too many of us don't show up. (Try to be on time and not your normal late arrival)
5. We're allowed to give each other knowing winks or nods in passing. Just try to keep from grinning too hard.
6. No singing loudly, We've come this Far By Faith (it will be acceptable to hum softly)
7. No bringing of barbeque ribs or fried chicken for lunch in the company lunchroom for at least a week (no chitlings at all, this may make us seem too ethnic)
8. No leaving Kool-Aid packages at the water fountain (this might be a sign that poor folks might be getting a break through
9. No Cupid Shuffle or Electric Slide during breaks (this could indicate a little too much excitement)
10. Please no 'Moving on Up' music (we are going to try to remain humble)
11. No doing the George Jefferson dance (unless you're in your office with the door closed)
12. Please try not to yell----BOOOO YAH!
13. Just in case you're wondering, Doing the Running Man, cabbage patch, or a backhand spring on the highway is 100% okay.

If I've missed anything feel free to add to the list. I just want to make sure we're all on the same page when Obama brings this thing home on November 5th.

Obama supporters, how do YOU plan on celebrating November 5th?? Do tell...

I'm A "Green" Diva

This post is probably TMI about me... but health and wellness are things I am passionate about from head to toe, inside and out-- to include menstrual health. Any of you heard of The DivaCup? I use to sell it at my online store. I'm now out of stock. The other day I got to thinking how long it has been since I first started using a menstrual cup in lieu of tampons. It's been about 4 years now at least. I'm sure it was either shortly before or after I got Sisterlocks Either way... it too is a decision I don't regret making much like my decision to get Sisterlocks. I had been a tampon user since a teen and had become increasingly concerned about toxic shock syndrome. Not because I had ever experienced any symptoms but I just got to wonderin' were there any OTHER options to tampons and pads. Oh the wonder of the Internet... I got to Googlin' up some stuff and lo and behold... alternatives existed and had existed for years. You may be amazed as I was that there ...

Length to Short Bob Sisterlocks Hairstyle

Well, it has been about 2 years since my last post... (seems I'm mostly on my personal Facebook page and Google+ not to mention working towards completing my doctoral degree expected 2015 WhoopWhoop... but, I digress...) Here's what up... As the title suggests, I have gotten my length of 9 years cut into an Angled Bob. Now, while I had envisioned my Bob having a definite wedge from the side view... I guess my hair is just to fine to REALLY STACK HIGH naturally. That being said I do like my cut, but I was tickled by it because truly 'all things old become new again'. What I mean is that I HAD a permed Bob with a very short cut nape of my neck upon having my Sisterlocks installed back in 2005...and looking at my hair in 2014 it seems that I have started where I had come back then! (See the pic) Of course, THIS TIME the hair on the top of my head is chemical-free!!  This is ME with all my daughters...we all rock natural hair. My two SL'd daughters-- 2girls...

I'm lovin' Obama, but now...

What I'm about to say is not going to be popular... but liken this transformation to the continued maturation process that we loc'd sistahs/brothers go thru when making the decision to loc or not. I love the idea of the beautiful Obama family in the White House, but I now am not sure I can support Obama with my official vote come November 4th. Yes, the same ME who donated money to his campaign, stood in long lines in Detroit on Labor Day this year, who penned the previous posts http://esandb.blogspot.com/2008/03/barak-praise-lordenough-said.html, http://esandb.blogspot.com/2008/09/labor-day-2008-in-detroit-with-obama.html, http://esandb.blogspot.com/2008/06/prayer-for-barack.html, and my famous pic at this post http://esandb.blogspot.com/2008/08/love-me-some-obama.html. Upon deeper research, I can't honor Obama with my official vote because I don't agree with 75% of his politics or values. I realize I like others that I really want CHANGE on the face and actions of Am...
