Sisterlocks Surprise

A strange thing happened on the road towards Virginia Beach, VA this summer. You know how you stop off the road to refill the gas tank, use the rest room, and/or grab a bite to eat in a town that you have no earthly idea where you are? Well, on such an occasion I approached the cashier at a Wendy's fast-food joint to place my order. She gasped... yet proceeded to take my order. Saying nothing else after our transaction, and feeling kinda weird about her gasping I stepped far aside away with my kids to allow my husband to place his order. Next thing I know my husband was calling me back up to the cashier... then she shared...

Guess what? She recognized me from the Internet as she was surfing the Web for Sisterlocks pictures. I thought she might know me from my YouTube Channel or this blog but no just from doing a Google images search. She went on to quickly explain to me with interruptions from the food preparers how she was transitioning, getting her funds ready and seeking a Sisterlocks consultant in her area. She asked my suggestion but not being from... well... WHEREVER WE WERE, I was no help beyond suggesting that she visit Sisterlocks.com.

What really surprised me was when she said, "I love your hair so much that I have your picture on my cell phone. I would get it and show it to you but I'd get in trouble for having my cell at the register." OMG! For real... This was a bit much... but I was kinda flattered. She also explained that she gasped because she just couldn't believe that I was right in front of her...

What ARE THE ODDS!?!

I wish we could have really discussed Sisterlocks more, but the situation didn't warrant it.

I hope to meet any one of you my Natural Journey readers... YOU ROCK!

That's very very eerie and exactly the reason I had to revamp my blog a few weeks back. I was bored one night so I Googled Nihuru and got a kazillion hits that lead back to my blogger profile. Every comment I ever made on other people's blogs showed up also. The type of work that I do requires me to be very very cautious. I lost a lot of loyal SL and natural readers but I have no other regrets and I have piece of mind. Be Careful!

I'm totally okay with what's online about me... I guess this situation was just kinda of awkward. We didn't really get to share information as I would have liked with her. Plus, I wasn't even thinking about anything but getting something to eat- lol!

Length to Short Bob Sisterlocks Hairstyle

Well, it has been about 2 years since my last post... (seems I'm mostly on my personal Facebook page and Google+ not to mention working towards completing my doctoral degree expected 2015 WhoopWhoop... but, I digress...) Here's what up... As the title suggests, I have gotten my length of 9 years cut into an Angled Bob. Now, while I had envisioned my Bob having a definite wedge from the side view... I guess my hair is just to fine to REALLY STACK HIGH naturally. That being said I do like my cut, but I was tickled by it because truly 'all things old become new again'. What I mean is that I HAD a permed Bob with a very short cut nape of my neck upon having my Sisterlocks installed back in 2005...and looking at my hair in 2014 it seems that I have started where I had come back then! (See the pic) Of course, THIS TIME the hair on the top of my head is chemical-free!!  This is ME with all my daughters...we all rock natural hair. My two SL'd daughters-- 2girls...

I'm A "Green" Diva

This post is probably TMI about me... but health and wellness are things I am passionate about from head to toe, inside and out-- to include menstrual health. Any of you heard of The DivaCup? I use to sell it at my online store. I'm now out of stock. The other day I got to thinking how long it has been since I first started using a menstrual cup in lieu of tampons. It's been about 4 years now at least. I'm sure it was either shortly before or after I got Sisterlocks Either way... it too is a decision I don't regret making much like my decision to get Sisterlocks. I had been a tampon user since a teen and had become increasingly concerned about toxic shock syndrome. Not because I had ever experienced any symptoms but I just got to wonderin' were there any OTHER options to tampons and pads. Oh the wonder of the Internet... I got to Googlin' up some stuff and lo and behold... alternatives existed and had existed for years. You may be amazed as I was that there ...

Just kidding... Lottabody DOES Work on MY Sisterlocks!

Hmmm, well, I guess I figured out  my Lottabody to Water ratio...  I sure needed to because as you can you see, I have a half bottle of the stuff yet to go... and this large bottle WILL LIKELY last me for the next 9 years... lol!
